In honor of Danny Byrd’s second visit to Toronto (*area*, and seemingly better timed visit for anyone who didn’t know who he was until recently), I found a decent mix over at dnbshare. The mix was recorded in April so it’s a bit old, but it gives you some idea of the kinda things we should be hearing in Oakville’s own ‘Arnolds Sports Bar & Grill’. Now while I doubt most of you give a shit about some sports bar in Oakville, this venue has a special place in my heart. Why? Because from the age of 16 I’ve been going there to try and get served booze, and from the age of 17 I was actually being served booze. And on days that I was getting turned away I would just play video games for hours. I also met an old girlfriend there many years ago. Big up Oakville massive and big up Chilton Gaines for another solid event featuring one of UK’s FINEST producers of late. Some smasher tunes on the new album, and I really can’t fucking wait to hear what this guy has in store for us.
Danny Byrd will be at Arnolds on August 16th. Be there, or be a total douche.

Danny Byrd – New Album + Toronto Date
Ok, so this album has been out since May, it’s dope, everyone knows it, not much more to be said, but I caught wind of a rumor that Danny will be touching down in Toronto in August and his myspace confirms. Me thinks it’ll be in Oakville at Arnolds, although I hope it’s not. Might be a bit hard to get to for the Toronto heads like myself. Still, can’t really complain, as it stands Dannys new album is probably one of the best released in a very long time. Every tune is consistently great with great dancefloor presence in each. Bit of everything really, even breaking down into some electro beats in Weird Science (vid below), which is one of my faves. Can’t wait to work that into a mix of drum and bass and electro. (currently it’s still siting in my beatport crate for purchase…not enough jungle monies atm)
