It is the tradition I’ve kept up now for 5 summers, every summer right before the travels - a banger of a mix for all of yous to enjoy. For the past 4 years it has been the annual edition of the “ESSENTIAL MIX” but since 2009 edition saw an early New Years Eve release and my promise of a summer mix - here’s my first “non-essential” mix in 6 years!

The House Moguls

Got sent a couple of remixes from The House Moguls yesterday. These tracks aren’t my usual cup of tea, but I still found myself jamming out to them.

The original “I’m in Miami Bitch” has a farty bassline that seems to be missing in The House Moguls edit. Luckily it’s replaced with a deeper whomp of a kick. Which makes me like it more to be honest. The farty bassline was a bit too obvious. And not low enough really. Remix is also just under 3 minutes longer. Better for mixing. Sick track.

This Love is Gone edit is a few seconds longer than the original, and to be honest I can’t say that I would pick this over the original. The sick bassline is gone, and the vocal doesn’t kick in until the 4:22 mark. Still a great edit.

The Presets w/ The Golden Filter @ Mod Club PICTURES

Well The Presets performed extremely well, the show was great, but when I walked through the door I was told I could only take pictures for the first three songs. Such a retardly bullshit rule that does absolutely nothing for the band, and limits the press they get to a few pictures. Awesome!!! For some history on the 3 song rule and why it’s so bullshit, check this link. To sum it up, shitty photographers ruined band photography for everyone (well for bands that have certain management which again doesn’t make much sense). Awesome. Fucking slimeball paparazzi. What does that mean for you? Not many pictures of this show unfortunately…amazing performance though!? Music was insanely good. As expected. The Golden Filter were a really great opener as well…check out the pics…
